Nestled in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Austin, the Commodore Perry Estate by Auberge Resorts offers guests a taste of Italianate luxury blended with Texan charm. This 1928 estate has been meticulously restored to reflect its historic elegance, with updated touches that make it a prime destination for modern luxury. Originally designed as a grand private residence, the estate exudes a sophisticated atmosphere with lush English-style gardens, Italian-inspired architecture, and an ambiance that feels a world away from Austin’s city center—despite being just a short drive away

It recently earned recognition with the Michelin Guide's prestigious "2 Keys" rating, a new accolade indicating an exceptional stay experience. This honor places the Commodore Perry Estate among Texas's most distinguished hotels, sharing the distinction with just two others in the state: Bowie House in Fort Worth and Hotel Emma in San Antonio. The 2 Keys rating acknowledges the estate’s excellence in design, service, character, and value, further highlighting its unique ambiance and dedication to providing an elevated guest experience within the setting of Austin’s historic Hyde Park neighborhood

The property’s main building, the Mansion, offers only five suites that retain their original elegance, with a mix of antique furniture and locally sourced decor. Interior designer Ken Fulk drew from the mansion’s rich history to create suites with vintage charm, inspired by the estate’s original owners, Edgar and Lutie Perry. Meanwhile, the newer Inn building provides 42 guest rooms with classic arches and terra-cotta roofing, merging modern luxury with the estate’s timeless aesthetic.

Dining at the estate is an experience in itself, with the on-site Lutie’s Garden Restaurant, helmed by acclaimed chefs Bradley Nicholson and Susana Querejazu. The restaurant captures Texas's culinary heritage with locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, all while in a setting reminiscent of the Jazz Age. Diners can enjoy unique dishes like confit duck leg and Texas ribeye in a cozy, greenery-filled space that overlooks the estate’s gardens.
